A Note On A Birthday

This is from a friend. I just wanted to put it somewhere I wouldn't lose it :)

I just i wanted to say Happy Birthday!! I know i said i was going to send you 35$ to get your nails done, but, I just have to say, that I am so broke, but! thats not going to stop me from sending you 35$ for feeling like a princess, the thing is, you just have to wait till my paycheck gets in.. and thats like in 3 weeks!! i know.. kinda stupid. I didnt get paid this week, and i would thought that i would be on the payrol esp when ive been working for a week!!! I feel awful for not sending it in time, and i hope that this sad news didnt really upset you!! I really wanted to send it to you, but i was also waiting on my paycheck to come!! AHH CRAZINESS!!

ANyways! lets change this sad news around, and make it happy!! Here how it goes!! I just wanted to say how grateful I am that you, and i are such great friends! Im sure I have annoyed you so many times in the past, and present, and maybe in the future.. :D haha. But, I just want you to know, that I will not regret the day when we first all met up! Sure, i was really shy at the begining, but i was able to open up, and get to know someone so wonderful! I told jen, and bekah.. this. and i havent told you yet, and i tried to, but your phone is busy, and i kinda got lazy to trying again. hehe. :D anyways. After we all talked on the phone on Sunday, and as i was laying in my bed thinking about you guys. I had such a wonderful confirmation saying.. these are my true friends!! these girls are the one that can help me walk on the straight path, and that they will always be there for me, whenever i need them, and if i need to smacked in the buttom. :) and that my patriarchal blessing was starting to make more sense. :) before i talked to you guys, I was struggling so hard in trying to be strong with what i know is true, and whether being a good girl is worth the shot, and what not. I have many friends who are doing drugs, and have been loosing their virtue. for so many weeks, I was jealous. I wanted to be just like them, and why cant i be bad just this once.. but everytime i tell myself just one sip, my testimony is saving me from not doing those things. I wanted to fit in so bad, and didnt want to be always the good girl. being a good girl is always hard, and having friends who does the opposite, makes it even harder. But then after that night, I told myself, you know, i can do it! I have friends who keep their standards, i have friends who loves to do the right thing, and that its not bad!! It just gave me a realization, that i didnt i have to be bad to fit in our circle. We have each other, and the testimony that we have creates our friendship something even more than expected. I just want to let you know that I love you so much, and Im just grateful for you, and your determination to choose the right, and through your example it had saved me from making the biggest mistake of my life. And i just wanted you to know that. And. Happy birthday!!! I wish every min to be there with you! But im truly grateful you get to go to the temple. Let me know how it goes. And no worries, the money is coming!!
i love you

Food for the Skin

Sugar:
According to Dr. Patricia Wexler, exfoliating is one of the most important things we can do for the health of our skin. Best-selling author and makeup artist Carmindy reveals that plain old white sugar is one of the best exfoliators around. Keep a jar of it in your shower. Take a handful and gently massage your entire body with it, using a soft washcloth. Rinse and the sugar crystals simply melt away down the drain. So much better than eating it!

Olive Oil:
The ancient Romans knew what they were doing when they slathered olive oil on every part of their bodies, saving a little for their hair. Keep a plastic ketchup bottle (the kind you see in old diners) filled with olive oil in your bathroom. Add a few drops of lavender oil (or whatever fragrance you prefer). After exfoliating, pat your skin until it’s almost dry, then massage a small amount of oil all over your body. Result? Skin like velvet. After your hair is dry, massage a few drops of oil in your palms and, bending over, scrunch a bit of it into the ends.

Honey:
Who knew that honey is equally effective for treating colds and improving your looks? Applying honey all over your face is beneficial, since it contains vitamins and moisturizes. It's also a natural antibiotic that can kill bacteria. Add a little white sugar and exfoliate with it in the shower, too.

Lemon Juice:
There are so many things you can do with lemon juice (preferably freshly squeezed). Soak your nails in them (without polish) to reduce yellowing, and brush your teeth with a mixture of baking soda and lemon juice for whiter teeth. And best of all, take a tablespoon or two of freshly squeezed lemon juice and mix into a tall glass of warm water. Drink it before ingesting anything else, first thing in the morning. It’s a great way to hydrate and jump-start your system.

Crisco (or some other vegetable shortening):
Crisco is a surprisingly effective makeup remover, and it’s also highly effective in treating eczema. Apply the shortening to infected areas, and let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes. Rinse, and apply a little olive oil.

Yogurt:
Yogurt is a highly effective treatment for the common skin condition rosacea. It has the ability to soften the skin while calming the redness — especially after eating something spicy or enjoying a little too much heart-healthy red wine. Simply apply it as a mask, and leave on for about 15 minutes. Rinse, and apply a light layer of olive oil.

Parsley and Mint:
Bad breath is common, and usually avoidable. Steer clear of the store-bought mouth rinses and gargles, as they tend to make matters worse. Simply brush your tongue when you brush your teeth, drink lots of water to keep your mouth hydrated and chew on a few sprigs of parsley or mint, since studies have shown that these freshen breath instantly. Keep a plastic bag filled with the sprigs in your purse at all times.

Green Tea Bags:
Green tea is one of the best things you can drink (along with lots of water, and red wine in moderation). For a great de-puffing eye treatment, try soaking a few bags in water and sticking them in the freezer. Place on your eyes, lower the lights and ... relax.

Apple Cider Vinegar:
Exfoliating is one of the best things we can do for our skin. Chemical peels done at your dermatologist's office are highly effective, though often expensive. But a simple application of apple cider vinegar works, too. Soak a cotton ball in it and apply all over the face, keeping away from the eyes; leave on for at least 45 minutes. After you rinse, follow with a light application of olive oil.

Storm Bending

Some fun things have happened recently. The first on is the crazy storm that came on Tuesday. It was a thunderstorm with winds going 60 mph. Lightning and thunder was everywhere, the sky was dark and pretty and the rain was coming down hard. It was really warm outside too.

Alyssa and I went out and played in it. Half our street was out there too, which was most of our Relief Society. Alyssa and I ran around half the block then came back. I had not run like that since high school! It was so much fun. It was really pretty too.

Barbara was such a dork, she has ammonia because the doctors had to drown her lungs to clean them out and she was out there jumping in puddles with us. The water in the puddles was super dirty and they were HUGE. I wish I had pictures of it, but I do have pictures Alyssa took of us when we came back in to shower.

She showered first so I sat on a towel in the living room and watched TV until it was my turn. After playing in the warm rain and then coming in and getting cold, the hot shower was super nice. We had so much fun.

Jen and I went to the midnight showing of The Last Airbender, we walked to the theatre. She was on the phone with Bekah the entire way. She had called her to see if she wanted to come with us, but she had to remain at home and take care of her grandma. I was stressing because we were waiting for her to call us back and tell us yes or no and we couldn’t leave until we knew. So when Jen called back and she said no at around 10 I dragged us out of there and started walking at my fast pace. Jen wouldn’t keep up, and I think she was getting irritated with me. We went to cross the street and a car came toward us at high speed. I freaked and pulled her along, being silly. She told me to calm down :( That’s when I think she was irritated. So I was quiet until I was handed the phone. I talked to Beks a bit; she’s having it rough right now. Then we went inside, I was still on the phone and Jen got our tickets. I owe her almost $9.00 Ick >.< She and I talked and played a couple games. I won 2 of War, and she won 2 of Go Fish. She stole my three Queens both games. I was livid. And then we went in to see the movie. It was good. I enjoyed it for what it was, but it was not as epic as I had hoped it would be. I would have done three movies for each book so there would have been nine. There was just way too much information to cram it all in a one, two hour movie. Jen and I talked about it the entire way home, talking about what we liked, what we disliked, analyzing the movie and voicing our opinion about the whole thing. That’s when I like to critique a movie, not during it :P, which is what she likes to do at home. I can’t stand that, but she’s getting better at not doing it.

Anyway, that’s about it. We had fun.

Last night I stayed up until four cleaning the house. I couldn’t stand the dirtiness any more, and no one had done their chore before leaving for the weekend. So I cleaned. I got up around nine and went next door to catch the last of the soccer game with Barbs (Germany vs Argentina). Germany won 4:0. It was a pretty cool game, and the sportsmen ship was awesome. After that I came back here and slept until about 1:00 and then vacuumed. I couldn’t do it last night. I didn’t want to wake up upstairs or Jen.

Now it is beautiful and clean.

I just wish people would do their chores. I’m so tired.

Dreams & Lake Monsters

I had my first “romantic” dream last night. Except it wasn’t just romantic. We were married. It was really cool. I still remember how I felt. I mean, I could tell we’d been married for a while. We just found out I was pregnant and we were at some auditorium for a community meeting. There was so much love in my chest I thought it’d burst. It wasn’t the lusty love, but pure true good love. I hope it’s like that when I do get married, and all the hype of first getting wedded goes away like we’ve been talking in my marriage prep class.

Only my UFO friends could truly appreciate who my husband was….except it wasn’t him at the same time. I had that same kind of excitement and anticipation that I do with that guy, but though it was him…it also wasn’t him.

My dreams are weird.

Our toilet flooded the bathroom. Yup. It was exciting. We’re still washing the towels that we used to clean it up. I was steaming my face at the time, but then I heard Alyssa and Kim squealing. I looked up just in time to see water flooding the floor and the two girls jumping out of the way.

Alyssa called Mandy, who came over just to laugh at us. Mandy is kind of the go to girl when things go wrong.

Though my roommates might not think so, I think living here in the Hobbit Hole is a grand, epic adventure I wouldn’t trade for the world. We’ve had so many things go wrong, it’s like going through our own journey. I think the bathroom flood counts as fighting the Lake Monster before the Dwarf Mines.

Good times.

Today we’re going shopping for food, and other things. There is a possibility that we may go to the sand dunes…Kim’s got the car, and she isn’t feel up to much…we’ll see what happens.

Some New Stuff

Here is a video of my roommate Kim and I (and sort of Jelly) singing Mouline Rouge

Above is a video of our leaking ceiling. You can barely see the drips of water go into the pots; I think you can hear the water too. Below are pictures of the pots catching the water.

This is my new awesome haircut!

Quiet

Sometimes I feel all alone.

But I know that I am not.

Kaylee visited me this Valentines Weekend. Got to admit, it was the best part of the Holiday =]

We watched FOTR and TTT. Someone is borrowing my ROTK so we didn’t get to see that. I really need to find the girl and ask for it back. Kayls and I also made Lembas Bread today. It tastes like a glorified graham cracker. Real good stuff.

David B. sent me roses for V-Day. Not sure how I feel about it anymore. I screamed and was kinda having a fit when I saw them cause I’m dumb and ick. I just felt awkward about the whole thing. He assures me he only did it cause he thinks I deserve some nice stuff…I hope he doesn’t expect anything special in return. I can’t give him that.

I miss the LOTR’s faze…I don’t think I ever got out of it.

I don’t want to go school tomorrow. Bah.

Everyone is at FHE. I didn’t go cause I’m not feelin’ too hot and I had to get some homework done for tomorrow.

I’m going to buy a beta fish when the roses die and put him in the vase. Think I might call him Leggy…or Doristanen…or Aiden…dang choices. I might even walk around campus and give the roses away to random people. Not sure though.

Well…I’m back at school, obviously. I need to be better about updates.

I need to call the office about getting my AA and find out about transferring to Provo.

*Bangs head on laptop* Will I survive?

Hope ya’ll had a happy Valentines.
